A week ago I directed a music video for Leroy Lee for his first single Mountain Song off his upcoming debut album. While we were editing the film footage on Saturday we decided to head out and shoot a spontaneous video in front of the sunset.
The song we picked is Night Night and I am calling this the “Winter Sunset Version.” So if you are sitting at your desk job and you are wishing it was still Saturday afternoon the following video might help you…
While we were out there I recorded another performance which I will post in the next day or two. Also stay tuned for the official Mountain Song music video in the next few weeks.

Technical info:
PRODUCTION
Shot on a Sony PD-150 PAL with Century Optics Anamorphic Lens, which gives you a 16:9 widescreen image optically rather than the 4:3 or camera’s fake 16:9 and a Tiffen Warm Pro-Mist filter which takes the “video” edge off the image.
POST
In post I exported it as 1280×720 HD which is an upscale of the SD image (not generally recommended.) Because the image has been enlarged you can see some pixilation & digital artifacts especially when watching in HD on YouTube. Also this is made more obvious because of the low light. It is actually the same effect that you get when watching a Standard-Definition DVD on a full HD plasma or LCD.
Why did I blow up the image? Just wanted to try upscaling it.
